Positions on the Celestial Sphere and HW 1

Since I will be at a conference on Friday, February the 8th, you will be doing a very short quiz for your "in-class lab" grade that day.  No need to study.  You will get full credit if you show up and follow the directions.

Our next regular class meeting will be on Monday the 11th.  I'll mostly be going over section 1.3. This includes a few coordinate systems used in astronomy and a bit about seasons on Earth.  Your first homework set for this will be the following:
